Internationally garment industry is an upcoming industry which is managed by semi skilled people & the people who are working in the factory are unskilled. Since the late 1980s the garment industry has evolved on the back of key preferential trading agreements, notably SPARTECA (the South Pacific Regional Trade and Economic Cooperation Agreement, 1980), the Import Credit Scheme (ICS) and the Multi fibre Agreement (MFA). The garment industry is having particular significance and importance. It remains a critical industry for the economy and a source of employment for the poor. As Garment Industry Management is a very critical subject, which deals with Product & production management issues in front & across borders is a difficult task for any in-experienced people. The curriculum is designed for overcoming the issues & also deals with past present and future needs/demands of the national & international markets.
